科博館表示，暑假期間館內展示場及部分自策特展、太空劇場、立體劇場、植物園溫室、921地震教育園區、鳳凰谷鳥園生態園區、車籠埔斷層保存園區，都是免費參觀。至8月31日，2001年7月1日（含）以後出生的19歲以下年輕人可無限次免費入館參觀。
