自來水煮沸過程中,三鹵甲烷會先隨溫度增加而增加,並於煮沸到100℃時達到最高點,此後若打開鍋蓋繼續煮沸3~5分鐘,三鹵甲烷含量就會大幅減少。所以在家中煮開水,建議應於煮沸後打開蓋子再煮沸5分鐘,不過要記得同時打開排油煙機或窗戶,以避免蒸散的三鹵甲烷又讓家人吸入。
