並沒有所謂會根據黨員手冊抓人的說法，謠言內文用威脅恐嚇的方式散佈，並非事實。台灣執政黨民進黨回應，「任何恫嚇的語言，只會遠離台灣民心」，民進黨發言人王閔生表示，中華民國是個主權獨立國家，台灣的民主應由兩千三百萬人以民主方式共同決定，中國大陸必須正視中國民國存在事實，兩岸的和平發展應建立在彼此良性溝通對話之上。
