由於Edge 瀏覽器具備支援為Chrome開發的第三方擴充套件的功能，加上看準微軟官方對這類外掛程式與擴充套件的審核把關疏於嚴謹，近來也成為不肖網路犯罪份子發動惡意攻擊的獵物。由於執行擴充套件不時會跳出擾人的廣告訊息。
